You are missing the point, Barb. The fact that you move your website onto another public domain just means it is still public domain. You can password protect your website. The fact that SM and others can find your website by doing a google or an aol search tells me that you are on a public domain. They are acting within the law. You cannot prove harrassment unless they hacked into your computer or sent you email that is of a threatening nature, and the only way you can protect your system is to obtain a firewall. So, as far as I can see here there is no harrassment. I've worked with security and these are our guidelines for harrasment and crimes

Plus, it is difficult to prove whether email content is threatening or to be deemed threatening. IP tracing can be tough since most ISPs use DHCP. She can trace email to an email server but it is not necessarily confined to a geographic location. All she can do is send a complain to the ISP or email service with user name attached and that person(s) usage will be revoked. Problem is that the offender can simply move to another isp or email provider and/or use multiple aliases

I have never sent barb an e-mail, harrassing or otherwise. I have, however, received an e-mail from her containing personal information about myself and several others who frequently point out what a lying crackpot she is warning me to "be careful". She has also had similar correspondence with a few others.

Her "personal" information (webpages) were found when she "accidentally" posted her full name on the Acmepet bulletin boards not once, but twice. I believe the excuse was being inept with her new scrolling mouse. :oops: Before that, nobody knew or cared to know about her secret crocheting life.

The "SailorMoon is stalking me" thing has been going on for years, she started saying that after I made the mistake of telling her I would be in her area for dog shows. Fact is, there's currently about 600 miles separating us, and that's not enough for me. Of course, nobody believed her and it was the subject of many a joke. This was followed by a period of "I never said SailorMoon was stalking me". Which again, was ridiculed and refuted by her own quotes. I guess she's back to her stalking delusions again. She also believes another poster sent government boogie men to spy on her. I do agree with her on one thing though; it is hard to imagine what I have put her and her husband through....since the only contact we've had is through these boards.

I must say that the first thing I noticed on Barbs Geezer, was an Army Vet, with a beautifull pheasant painted on a wooden box which is for sale. I did similar to a guy on envirolink Barb and for good reason. The fellow claimed to be a PHD. I figured that he would be articled if he were one so I did what sailor did when he posted his full name. I didn't come up with his name as a PHD ,Bsc or M.D. I did however find him under sales rep for herbal remedy for diabetes and cloresterol sales out of CHINA. It was kinda funny because he was claiming wonderful breakthroughs which he was making in his research into diets and his wife was calling for help on the web to eleviate her stomach aliments including excessive gas & nausia. I had with the guy oneday and his lies. I asked point blank why he claimed to be a PHD when his web pages proved he isn't. He pulled a rant like yours Barb but he stopped posting at Envirolink and disappeared. The lie was bigger then him I suppose. BTW he was death on animal produced insulin and recommended under his PHD header that people buy this paticular brand of rice encapsulated diabetic pills and cloresterol capsules. Following his advice could have killed people or sent them into insulin shock. Part of me felt sorry for the guy ,but another part told me I did the right thing.

You did the right thing. You exposed a fraud and the fact that he was from overseas could have protected him from any lawsuits or arrest if someone should die as a result of his advice. Working in the Valley especially in internet security, i found Barb's complaint of harrassment quite suspcicious. There were many ways to stop the harrassment like IP blocking, filing a complaint with the ISP, firewalls. But it did not seem that she was that interested in stopping the harrassment. It seems that she was far more interested in getting SM, a personal vendetta

Okidoki, I use my real name, I have a website with info, hell! I even have pics (and plenty of em) of me, my husband, the pets AND even my home on the internet. To go even a step further: my COMPLETE home adddress used to be on a website owned by my husband's band because we were the contact address. Which only changed because my brother in law handles everything now. Still, it was up there for 3 years. And if you are a very smart cookie maybe you can even track me with my email address and ip, go ahead... I'll give ya a clue, I live in the Netherlands, that's in Europe.
