the language thing is gonna get me in trouble though, i just know it.

Me too...lolol.
I wouldn't be too concerned, though, because it's mainly the males who will be getting in trouble...lolololol.
Seriously, I think that Barb's intention is to try to put a lid on crude namecalling and/or derogatory implications.
For example, if RF were to write something like, "So, how's your mama's job on the corner working out?", Barb just might edit it to read, "So, how's your mama's job as CEO of her own company working out?"
Something along those lines. Censorship sure...but, censorship meant to lighten the atmosphere of the forums.
As far as words like f*ck, sh*t, and your basic profanity, no doubt there'll be leeway there. So, if some guy wants to call a female poster a "f*cking whore," or "f*cking c*nt," he probably will want to post "f*cking moron" instead.
And...Grace probably can't call anyone a twat either...lol.
It's nothing more than an attempt to keep discussions, no matter how heated, civilized, rather than have them deteriorate into garbage.
That's my take on it, but, then again, I could be wrong. (shrug)
