A man had to be rescued after a large animal head hanging on a wall fell on him early Friday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies found the man pinned in his recliner by a stuffed water buffalo's head, Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

The unidentified man was treated at Mariner's Hospital and released.

Herrin said the man had apparently fallen asleep at his residence at Mile Marker 88 of U.S. 1 when the head fell into his lap at about 1:20 a.m.

The man couldn't move, but he managed to reach his cell phone and call 911, Herrin said.

"All the male caller could do is yell his address and tell them he was 'crushed,'" Herrin said in a statement.

As to why I'm sorta here, boredom. Recooping from total knee replacement surgery and in between pt and cussing. Third surgery on this knee in two years and planned to wait some years before the replacement. Went to England and came back in a wheelchair. Great trip though and worth it. Knee replacement is just plain brutal. Highly recommend you Google "avoiding knee replacement surgery" and do everything it says.

See ya in a couple of years or so.

Periodlcally she likes to drop in and write a post complaining that she's been banned. It's like a hobby of hers, I think.

Hobby, compulsion, who's to say?

This is, however, evidence that Pops is not barb. Sure, barb drops in periodically claiming to be banned. But were barbs truly Pops, she would assert this on and on and on for untold pages.

And once it was pointed out for the umpteenth time that a deleted member couldn't possibly post rebuttals for those untold pages that the truth would finally sink into the little reptile brain that controls Pops, and then barb/Pops would declare her/himself the winner in the exchange, call everyone "cunt lips" as a Parthian shot and disappear for a day or two.

In short, though just as crazy, barb seems to have far and away more smarts than Pops -- at the very least she understands the mechanics and strategic advantage of a drive-by.

BUT....

That also means she is smart enough to not let some of her sock puppets break character. "Bubba", a hunter who reformed his evil ways after witnessing other hunters cut the antlers from living deer never did break character. "Bubba" remained a person with some stories with rather large holes in them who was reluctant to go into much detail by way of explaining those holes until he was exposed by other means.

To send this thread spinning on another tangent... I realize that this was exposed as fiction, but was there any word as to what would motivate one to cut the antlers off of a live deer or how one would get close enough for long to a live deer? Or was this some sort of wastrel hunter story whereby the hunter shoots trophy deer and only takes the trophy (incorrectly, as it happens) leaving the deer in it's death throes? That sounds like a more plausible yarn, though approaching a wounded buck in this way seems a bit hazardous to ones health.

I believe those were some of the things mentioned and I believe those were the sorts of things that didn't get much of a detailed response. More like a, "Hey I know what I saw so just quit questioning me. Only animal abusers would try to discredit my story."

That methodology actually does sound a lot like Pops.
