No video?

Yikes! Now that would hurt.... I can see why they wouldn't post the video but it does make it hard to judge one way or the other.

Grace:
If I find the video; shall I post a warning or would you perfer to watch it as is?
Why would anyone outside the authorities and the jury want to watch something like that? loco.gif

Well it's a funny thing. I'm not afraid to watch human mishap videos (although some make me cringe and I'm sorry I watched)...but animals? Forget it. So yeah, if you find it feel free to post but you might want to warn others sensitive to that sort of thing. I did find the video today of the trainer at Seaworld who was killed last week by the whale. It's not graphic, but surprising as I thought he just drug her under and that was that. That wasn't that, however. Very sad. I felt really bad for the trainer who fought vigilantly for her life, for a while too, and also bad for the whale kept in a fish tank vs. the oceans of the world. Can't blame the whale. I feel this trainer's "love for whales" was misdirected. If she loved whales so much she should have joined Capt. Watson's crew. Her love for whales could be compared to the guy who kidnapped and held Jaycee Dugard as a slave for 18 years.

I'm so not touching that last part, Grace.....

Were is the video from seaword? I find this story a interesting one.
I agree she was very misguided. Poor whale its no surprise he went crazy and this isn't the first time nor will it be the last I am sure of it. They should not be held captive unless there is a medical reason and they need treatment. They should never be asked to preform stupid tricks. It makes me so mad I could scream. I feel bad for the woman but if she truely loved whales then there are much better ways to have shown that love.

Funny, perhaps. Surprising, no.

How do you know the whale "went crazy"? How do you know he wasn't just having a bit of fun, and not really giving a shit about the consequences to the trainer?

How does a perception of a whale's need justify its captivity, while human need doesn't?

Because inflicting your whims on other people is always so much better than inflicting them on fish.

I would bet that the wale feels luckier than the shrimp left suffocation on the deck of a boat....?

Your POV is subjective. And PS - whales aren't fish.
