Something I'm trying to get my brain around......

If dogs have to be trained to hunt....

How do wolves feed themselves in the wild? g.gif

You can't train any dog to hunt, some do it naturally and there is a lot of variation in between. Some dogs learn from others on a hunt such as those used to hunt hogs.

Wolves learn from other wolves.

Here's a thought:

Working from the premise that hunting is something that must be taught to dogs: to put it bluntly: so what?

What is wrong with a dog(Cat, hamster, goldfish) being taught to hunt?
