I'm looking for some info on those tracking collars worn by dogs nowadays.....

I've done a tiny bit of research, just so I can get a general over-view of how they're used....

It's about batteries, that I'm wondering.

How long will the batteries on the dog's collar last?
My source states 24 hours a recharge, but it didn't clarify if that was the collar on the doggie or the hand-held being used to keep track of him.

Any assistence would be appreciated....

For the $600 bucks they cost, it would be cheaper to buy another dog to replace the dog lost. And so on. Once you get up to $600 worth of beagles, time to retire.

That was exactly my argument in opposition to visits to the vet for cats. And better yet, the cats were free. Seemed to me that we could have replaced an infinite number of cats and been out nothing more than a little time and gas to go pick up the replacements.

But my argument didn't work.

No, I was quite serious at the time.

Since then, I've probably been worn down.

Just get a cowbell. Save some bucks.

Problem being; that might tip off predators that lunch is wandering about. Or prey that it needs to get hid or run.

The DC 30, in combination with the Astro 220, pinpoints your dog’s position every 5 seconds and runs for 17 hours. You can extend the battery life of the DC 30 by changing the position transmit rate from 5 to 10 or 30 seconds, enabling the DC 30 to work up to 36 hours in the field on one charge.
