Seems to me if it was carelessly set it WOULDN'T have caught a fox?

Scroll up for a photo of a nestling TURKEY vulture.

They're big birds so even the new hatchlings are fairly large but they're just a big ball of white fluff with a black face. The black blood (flight) feathers start to show at about the same time as a scruffy black tail. TURKEY vultures are hatched with black head that turn red later.

Found this site while searching for info on vaccines for raptors and there are a few other interesting rehab stories if you scroll up and down.

I realize some of you only like stories about killing wildlife but check out this photo.

Apparently they plan to keep this bird in captivity or he would be doing what I've done in the past with birds I don't want to imprint or become too habituated ... use a surrogate, gloves, a mirror and sound effects tape of an adult bird. If the bird was a bitolder, that might not be a problem because they'll go wild pretty easily.
