(Thanks for lifitng my ban frankie. But don't worry, I still won't be around much.
Did you ever post tht other thing I asked you to? Just curious. Maybe I can find it again and post it myself.)

Thought ya'll might be interested in furthering your education. (That's sarcasm, of course ...)

=============

Only 3 days left to register for IWRC's new online course, Euthanasia in Wildilfe Rehabilitation!

New to online training? All of IWRC's online classes are taught in real time by instructors, just like in a traditional classroom but without the travel and related demands on time and finances. All you need is a computer, access to the Internet and a telephone. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about effective fluid therapy techniques alongside students around the world!

“The online format is wonderful. I had serious doubts but the live sessions were pretty darn close to being in a classroom.”

“I will admit, I was a bit skeptical about trying to take a course with a phone in one hand in front of the computer. I also wondered if the material to be presented would come across on a computer. I was very pleasantly surprised that it all worked amazingly well."

Developed specifically for wildlife rehabilitators, IWRC's Euthanasia in Wildlife Rehabilitation provides participants with information about the decision making process and ethical issues relating to euthanasia and wildlife, as well as the technical aspects of performing euthanasia. Topics include, but are not limited to: understanding the importance and necessity of euthanasia in wildlife rehabilitation, how to make informed, balanced decisions concerning euthanasia, and understanding the physiologic mechanisms behind the main categories of euthanasia methods. For a complete description or to register, go to http://www.iwrc-online.org/training/catalog.html

This two-session class will take place on March 24 & 31 (live sesions will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Eastern). Scheduling conflict? No problem--all live sessions are recorded and available to registered students for at least two weeks after the course is completed. Registration closes on Monday, March 23, 2009.

I am at loss to why you posted this.

Already well educated in euthanasia courses myself. All types of lead projectiles work for me and the stuff that can not be eaten by myself can be put out in the back forty without my worrying about poisoning some silly bird that was able to find another exposed drug induced death, by poisoned needles.

Strangest thing. I was wondering if anyone heard how Barb's therapy was coming along and here she pops up on the horizon as crazy as ever. Poor psychiatrists realy have their work cut out for them. It's a shame those ACLU lawyers have forced the medical profession to cut so far back on giving the mentally ill higher dozes of mind numbing drugs. If Barb were more numbed she would appear so dumb ed . How you doing Hog Hoser. Any rats doing back flips off your knees lately.

barb, having been a cock fighter for many years I can tell you the quickest easiest way to " euthanize a bird. --------------GRACE YOU MAY WANNA STOP READING RIGHT NOW---------------- Hold the birds legs in your right hand ( assuming you are right handed) and lay the bird breast down and ass up on the ground while holding the legs firmly . Place your foot firmly across the birds neck and pull hard and steady ( don't jerk) on the legs. You will feel the spinal cord seperate from the base of the brain and instant rag doll bird. No thanks necessary for this internet lesson and it was free of charge too.
BTW a heavy stick placed firmly and quickly against the back of the head works great to.

In some places, they can arrest a person under a Health & Welfare code as "a danger to self or others," administer a long-acting anti-psychotic drug such as haldol dec (injected to the gluteus medius), and then release the person home.

Hummm . I think they forgot to give her the usual shot the ASS before they sent her home then.

Years ago we had a guy in town who would dress oddly in a combination of women's and men's clothes and hang around on Main Street where he would do some sort of dance unsynchronized to any music except perhaps that in his head. Passing cars would prompt him to make hand gestures of the sort employed by old fashioned conjurers. At assorted times he would take to babbling ferociously while staring at the sidewalk.

Speaking in terms of rational responses to rational concerns, trying to figure out why he did this was probably futile at best.

I figured someone turned on the bat shit signal and the cracked crusader swooped in...
