Just to keep you guys updated and grace all tingly inside... I have had absolutely abysmal luck bow hunting.... I near froze to death the other day and havent seen a deer while hunting in 3-4 days. I did however have to slam the brakes to avoid hitting one on the way home from the woods. I took a couple days off ( youth gun season) and will be back out probably tomorrow morning.

That was over at Elink. I captioned it "We're off to the sab, Mumsie" or something like that. Hey...I was just playing the game by the rules they announced and which even Josh was participating in. Just- as usual- doing it so much better.

I got so cold friday ( or thursday cant remember) that I was getting cramps in my feet and legs....started shaking so bad I was a little leery to climb out of the stand.

That's a Catch 22 to be sure.

Friday was a cold sumbitch, and to top it off I was coming down with the first cold I've had in like five years. I forgot how damn miserable...

Anyway, I don't usually like to dig on deep sewers with the windows closed but I just couldn't take it. The wind was coming right in the cab. I pussied out and closed the windows and stuffed cardboard in the radiator to make the machine run hotter.

Are you suggesting Steve elevates a high hoe into an aerial deer blind so he can stay warm RF and become a wussie like you .


Hey Steve. You should try being a Cable Splicer on my Northern Canadian turf, in January at 50' above ground level in minus 30% weather. No way to beat back the cold at all. Kinda makes a guy long for a warm summer day 20' above ground level on a busy street corner, while all those buxom halter tops are passing under your ladder. Yup! Telephone men are prone to getting to best and the worst out of life.

I swear I am gonna have top send grace some money to take the curse off.....In the stand this morning before daylight. At 7:30 I see movement through the underbrush and realize there is a huge flock of wild turkeys messing around about 100-150 yards away. I watch em for a while when all of a sudden all hell breaks loose and birds are flying everywhere. Neighbors dog came barreling into the flock trying to catch em. This same dog killed a fawn this past spring and a hen turkey off her nest.. I have a 2 blade rage waiting for him if I get the chance...anyway at 8:00 or so a nice doe comes in from my right. I freeze waiting for her to go behind some trees so I can p[ick up and draw the bow...she stops, looks directly at me....wheels around and goes trotting back across the field TO HER 6 COMPANIONS WAITING ON HER!!!!!!! I have no idea what spookd her as I was frozen solid still. I don't even think I was breathing. I think she may have spooked from the camo neting around the laddr blowing in the wind but thats been there a couple years..... I read that some camo gives off UV light that deer see like neon...Other than those I have no idea what the hell happened......well except for the voodoo thing.

GRACE you may not want to read past this point.......a 2 blade rage is an expandable broadhead. This dog is a menace. He has killed a fawn that we know of and he has killed a hen turkey that was setting a clutch of eggs that we know of. His owner thinks it is funny BUT he will kill ANY dog that crosses his property for no reason other than being there. I know its not the dogs fault but I cant shoot theowner.

I was deer hunting this morning, and a flock of turkeys were raising hell down below me. A couple of them took off flying and I saw a big bird coming kind of up the river towards me. As it got closer I realized it wasn't one of the turkeys..then I saw that it wasn't a red tail hawk.. it went directly over me and it was a golden eagle..those things are HUGE......wonder what its gonna taste like???
