Folks seem to drop by every once in a while, but sadly this board is pretty much deserted.

Did you happen to see the post in the pets section about our chickens? So far, bylaw is still letting us keep them. The last bylaw officer happily latched on to calling them 'exotics, so of course they are pets!'

Some may be over at envirolink, but ever since Donnie left the internet, it has gone kinda dead here.

I've not heard any rumors about Donnie passing.

Last I heard, he was keeping busy with some other issues and wasn't spending a lot of time on the internet. I believe his father might have passed away, but that was 3 or 4 years ago. He was off for a whole year back in 2002 when his pc got fried.

What made the board somewhat of a pain for me was when you had 2 or 3 people going at it with a quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a quote iinside a quote , etc. It was annoying to have the whole thread repeated a dozen times with each post adding a one line insult.

I agree. I can handle being called names. insulted etc but the whole quote a quote thats already been quoted was annoying as hell lmao

You've never heard of the Great Arctic Seals that live in Colorado? They're only native to the Pikes Peak region. There is a dire need for professional seal trainers.. so I decided to become one.

These smaller, general discussion boards keep going out of a sense of community. This one took quite a hit when several of the most prolific posters left off posting nearly simultaneously, for various reasons. AR/AW vs anti-AR/AW stilted debate isn't enough to keep a board going. It was only ever a small part of the total sum here. Frankly, those discussions can be rather boring. Bunny Hugger makes statement A. Hunter responds with point B. Bunny hugger returns with counterpoint C. I can read one of those threads at Envirolink and knowing something of the participants, it's nearly as predictable as night and day. Unless the conversation ranges farther afield and expands into larger themes (frowned on at Envirolink) or even bursts into flames, it's all rather dreary. (Flames gotta include a winky-winky pussified component at Envirolink that's about as exciting as Grandma's 97th birthday blowout where she drooled in her cake and shit in her drawers. Chrissake, Duh-wayne got bent and hit the delete button because I said I would take one of his points and hammer it up his ass. He might have took it literally. Now there's a guy who is protective of his butt to the point of obsession...and perhaps for good reason).

Look....like I said, most of the personalities here who were prolific participants in the contentious arguments, free-wheeling discussions, and just plain silliness, left about the same time. Any of you could have stepped up to the plate and carried on. That's all it takes.

I don't know, this board is just rather self-limiting. There's not a lot of traffic and it seems only a small number of topics are ever discussed. Well, that and the amusement value of internet loons like Barb and Lovebird is limited. I still stop in here from time to time, but I much prefer the SA forums now.
