What does everyone do for Halloween?

Go to a costume party? Take kids out trick or treating? Go trick or treating yourself? Hand out candy? Hand out quarters? Hand out generic cans of cola? Sit at home with your front light on but never answer the door when the kids ring?

We went to a haunter trail last night and I must say it was fun! I was chased by a chainsaw guy (for the third year..yay!) and even though I'm overcoming my fear of him...he still manages to make me scream like a four year old.

We're going to carve a few tonight and then hand out candy tomorrow night.

I usually give out some candy.

Sometimes though I will take off my mask and really scare the kids.

I hand out candy... don't have to carve a pumpkin, I have a clay pumpkin that I put a candle in every year.
Unfortunately, not too many trick or treaters, and I don't give candy to the lazy high schoolers that don't even bother to get dressed up.
So we're having a party at work tomorrow...

We carve pumpkins, decorate the house and hand out candy. This year it's my turn to take the kids out trick or treating and my husband is handing out candy.

Rob'll be taking Meg out trick-or-treating, Kev is hanging out with his friend around the corner and they'll be handing out candy at his friend's house, and Dan has a party to go to.

My younger son put forth the theory a couple of years ago that the "inspecting the candy for safety's sake" phase was just an excuse for the parents to snag the good candy before the kids got to it. So, my job is to hand out candy here at the house, and smack Rob's hand when he tries to make off with the goods while inspecting. And I'll do it, too! If he doesn't make sure I get *my* favorites, that is.....

I wish my son still went...I miss taking kids out.

Maybe I can mooch some kids off the neighbors or my sister. Hmmm..I could be one of those annoying people who take their pets trick or treating. Not.

On Friday night we took the kids to Boo at the Zoo. It was pretty nice. I like that they handed out coupons for free martial arts classes, soccer clases, etc. instead of just candy. We took my cousin's wife and their daughter, it was fun.

Today we went to the Halloween train at the Colorado Railroad Museum. They gave out a few bits of candy, and the kids had a blast riding on the train and wandering around. We got snowed on during the ride home! It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow in the A.M. so I'm not sure what's going on with the trick or treating here. The HOA is doing a hayride door to door for the kids to go trick or treating.. it'll either be pulled by a horse (depending on weather) or a tractor. One of the high schools in the area is having a trick or treat street for the kids in the gym and the malls are doing various things.

I'll probably pass out candy.. we got some reeses, take 5s, and some other fun stuff. We didn't get a whole lot of candy because we're not thinking a lot of kids will come here.

When we lived in San Diego my dad used to dress up as the Headless Horseman and stand or sit out on the front porch and when people got next to him he would move. One year he scared some lady so bad she left her baby in the stroller on our porch and ran into the street.

I went to the shelter tonight and adopted some black cats. Hung them on a crucifix and disemboweled them, stringing their guts along the arms of the crucifix to drape along the ground and collecting their blood in bowl to drink at the 13th hour tonight.

I abducted the local virgin, defiled, degraded and performed all sorts of heinous debaucherous acts upon her nubile, supple body, then sacrificed her to the demon, Ammon.

Later on tonight I'm gonna bark at the moon.

So some kids came to trick or treat last night at my house...
to one girl I said
"BOO"....very quietly...
she snottily said
"Ya didn't scare me!"

my roommate came flying around the corner with this very loud growl...
so loud in fact that girl started crying and continued to cry well into the street..........
ah well...

We scared a little boy, by accident, with this scary music that I had blaring out my front window. (No it wasn't Prince...lol.)

Festus...I hope you didn't maul anyone over night. Heh...we watched American Werewolf last night and I had forgotten how cheesy it is.
