They had a little reenactment in Monroe, Ga. recently. They reenacted a lynching. Fifty-nine years ago yesterday a mob of whites lynched two black women and two black men. During the reenactment the black men who portrayed the whites to committed this crime wore white masks. No problem with that. But ... imagine a reenactment of a crime committed by a black person, where a white person puts on a black mask. Yeah ... just imagine. We wouldn't hear the end of it for months

But I also know that if I took one of the many instances like say Reginald Denney getting drug from his vehicle during the 1992 riots and beaten almost to death by black guys. Now if I did a reenactment of that and you and I went in Al Jolsen black face. What would be your perceived notion of the response that you would get????

I think ther def' is a stigma attached to racism against black people...mostly due to the fact that the slavery issue was so big.
No doubt we tend to remember the more infamous incidents that are in our histories past, rather than the usual random acts of racism today that include other races being bigoted against.

Saw where a judge who was DUI hit a motorcyle guy....injured him bad..and the judge got off LIGHT...Now if the motorcylce guy hit the judge DUI...we all know it would have been different....

Lynchings are par with killing gays, IMHO..
because both are based on being a bigot and are born from fear
neither are justified, both are present in our society..past and present.
